International Symposium on power technology transformation and upgrading of traditional fuel vehicles held in Beijing

In order to further promote international cooperation and accelerate the transformation and upgrading of energy and power technology, the "International Seminar on transformation and upgrading of traditional fuel vehicle power technology" was held at the China Science and Technology Conference Hall in Beijing on January 15, 2018. The meeting was hosted by China internal combustion engine industry association. The meeting was presided over by Tan Xuguang, chairman of China internal combustion engine industry association. Focusing on the theme of "energy conservation, emission reduction and green development", the participants discussed the power technology upgrading of traditional fuel vehicles and the development of new energy power represented by fuel cells, so as to boost the sustainable and healthy development of the industry.

Wan Gang, Minister of science and technology and chairman of the Association for science and technology, attended the meeting and delivered a speech. Wan Gang pointed out that the green development of economy and society, ecological civilization and harmonious coexistence between man and nature are the general trend. With the development of society and the improvement of people's requirements for a better life, energy conservation and emission reduction are highly valued by all walks of life. The traditional automobile industry and its matching internal combustion engine industry are facing the dual technical pressure of energy conservation and emission reduction, so we should be calm Analyze and transform current challenges into opportunities for future development. From now on, the internal combustion engine will still be the main force in the market for a considerable time, which has an irreplaceable position and also faces the opportunity of transformation and upgrading. It is necessary to grasp the transition period, continuously promote the technical innovation of internal combustion engine, solve the energy conservation and emission reduction in the transportation field, and realize the industrial transformation and upgrading. Wan Gang said that emission reduction and consumption reduction are the main directions of internal combustion engines in the near future. There is still a certain gap between the comprehensive energy efficiency of China's internal combustion engine products and the international advanced level. It is necessary to invest resources in the aspects of high-strength whole machine technology, high-performance key parts technology, advanced combustion technology, low friction technology, low-power accessories, waste heat utilization and post-treatment, and organize scientific research and tackling key problems. The combination of internal combustion engine and electrification is a new direction of vehicle power technology in the future. We should attach great importance to the technical progress and industrial application of fuel cells. When the wave of power system electrification is coming, the internal combustion engine industry should make full use of new technologies, new products and new industries to realize cleaner and stronger transformation and upgrading.

Finally, on the basis of carefully listening to and comprehensively analyzing the speeches made by the participants, President Tan Xuguang made a summary speech on the views of the guests. He pointed out that traditional energy is still the main driving force of the world in the near future, but it is necessary to accelerate the upgrading and surpassing. New energy is an irreversible development trend in the world, so we must speed up the layout and lead. The future technical route of new energy power is hydrogen fuel cell, solid-state fuel cell and solid-state lithium battery, which must be adhered to. The upgrading of traditional energy and power and the development of new energy power should realize the sharing of global resources and take the road of joint opening and innovation.

Tan Xuguang hopes that a regular meeting mechanism will be established for the International Symposium on fuel and power, and industry associations will play a better role as a platform. We are looking forward to more achievements in the next seminar.

The International Cooperation Department of the Ministry of science and technology and the International Liaison Department of the Chinese Association for science and technology are the guiding units. Ye Dongbai, director of the International Cooperation Department of the Ministry of science and technology, and Wang Qinglin, Vice Minister of the International Liaison Department of the Chinese Association for science and technology, attended the meeting. More than 40 senior personages, experts and scholars from well-known enterprises, associations, research institutions, universities and relevant ministries and commissions from Germany, Austria, Canada, Japan and the European Union attended the meeting.

The in-depth discussions of international peers have played a positive role in promoting China's internal combustion engine industry into a new era of high-quality development and promoting the development of internal combustion engine technology and industrial upgrading.
