What is the outcome of internal combustion engine vs new energy power?

    On January 22, at the 6th National Member Congress and the 1st Council of the 6th China internal combustion engine industry association held in Beijing, the power transformation of internal combustion engine has become a hot topic besides the theme of the new term. The responsible persons of domestic internal combustion engine enterprises have expressed their views and launched discussions on this topic.

   Yuchai has just launched 14 types of national six engine products. We have done a series of work on these products from project approval, design of consulting company, major reform of internal system, and integration of suppliers. After testing, 99% of the indicators of our prototype are better than the peer products.

  This has given us a confidence that we should not only see the gap between ourselves and the world-class level, but also see our own advantages. We must seize and catch up with world-class enterprises. It can be said that the success of Yuchai guo6 products is also a result of benchmarking world-class enterprises in recent years. We have hired more than a dozen Japanese experts, as well as experts from FAW and Cummins, to help us rebuild the whole system.

  Of course, we still have many aspects to learn from our counterparts at home and abroad. We have to unite all our enterprises to become bigger and stronger. We believe that this gap will be eliminated soon. Five or ten years ago, the domestic bus engine field was almost monopolized by foreign countries. Now we can say that we have eliminated all the foreign enterprises. This shows that we have strength and can catch up with them.

  I am very confident in the development of traditional internal combustion engines. Recently, Tesla has launched a new electric heavy truck. Relevant experts of FAW have calculated its relevant data. This heavy truck battery will have a weight of 6 tons, with a range of 800 kilometers, which is only over 100000 kilometers a year. However, our domestic heavy trucks usually have a mileage of at least 200000 km a year, which can be driven 24 hours a year, and there is not enough time to recharge.

  Another problem is, how many years can Tesla's battery last? Our trucks with traditional power can run for at least eight years, while the batteries of electric heavy trucks need to be replaced every few years. This will not only increase the cost, but also lead to the problem of battery life decay and the mileage will be reduced.

  Therefore, we are confident in the traditional internal combustion engine, and the electric power can not replace the traditional internal combustion engine in the short term. In addition, judging from the current domestic situation, new energy vehicles have the support of the state subsidy policy and the financial sector. If these two kinds of vehicles are not available, they will compete with the internal combustion engine power on the same platform. I estimate that its sales will drop soon.

  Of course, FAW is also in the process of transformation. Although the pure electric heavy truck has not been made yet, we have built a factory in Qingdao, Shandong Province, specifically for electric light trucks.

  For the trend of electric engine, passenger cars may go faster, but it is not possible to achieve full electrification in a short time. In terms of the sales volume in 2017, the sales volume of new energy vehicles was 770000, which accounted for a very low proportion in the whole automobile sales. In the case of commercial vehicles, electrification is more difficult because there are many constraints. The battery of heavy truck can weigh more than ten tons. According to the charge once a day, it will take about 3000 kwh to use. Therefore, it is unrealistic for commercial vehicles to use electric power on a large scale.

  In addition, we are different from Europe in the definition of concept. We say it's electric, but in Europe it's electrified. Europe's electrification does not mean pure electric, but more and more electric technologies are used. Their heavy trucks are increasingly using electronic control technology on some small parts or powered by internal combustion engines.

We don't think pure electric is suitable for use on trucks. Of course, if the fuel cell solves some practical problems, it is still possible, but its commercialization still has a long way to go. Take the current hydrogen fuel cell as an example, there are still many problems to be solved. Where does hydrogen come from? How to transport it? If these problems are not solved, the road to electrification of trucks will be long.

  At present, the company has six wholly-owned subsidiaries in China, one holding subsidiary and two offices abroad. Products cover passenger cars, commercial vehicles, generators, ships, agricultural machinery and other fields. It has a large number of customers at home and abroad, including SAIC General Motors, FAW Volkswagen, GM, Ford and other 20 well-known international enterprises.

  At present, there is a great pressure on the development of enterprises. As a listed company, Xi'an pump company always abides by the requirements of environmental protection laws. At the same time, in 2007, the company has already reached the standard of three standards. However, due to the influence of some departments' behavior of limiting production and power, it has greatly restricted the development of the enterprise. It is suggested that the relevant departments should have a correct evaluation of the engine industry. In the future, the internal combustion engine industry is still promising, and there will still be a large number of talents to join the R & D team of the internal combustion engine industry and machinery industry. On the other hand, we are also constantly carrying out technological innovation and making some transformation. For example, the company started to develop automobile electronic pump in 2011, and organized to formulate a number of national standards. At present, it has established a supporting relationship with BAIC new energy, Chery Automobile, Lifan, Aerospace Mitsubishi and other automobile enterprises, and has made great progress in several products developed for general motors.
